CloudBeats: Cloud Music Player App Reviews

High hopes dashed by reality

The app has been scanning my Amazon library for 2 days - nothing appears until all scanning is done, apparently - odd "feature" - so I cant really use it. My library there isnt huge and should have completed in less then 10 minutes. Sorry, but, no....

Exactly the one

I tried various apps that claimed to use cloud services to play music... And they all failed the "can I figure out how to use what I need in 5 minutes" test. This app passed with flying colors. Supports Apple Lossless, and typical lossy m4a files with no gotchas. It even sees my embedded album art from XLD. Offline mod Just Works and the app knows when music are offline without any special fuss. Radio mode is really song shuffle but it is nice in its simplicity. Actually the whole app is a model in simplicity, beating Apple at its own game! Bye bye iTunes Match! Im only looking for album shuffle -- something that the iOS Music app has not had forever.

Does exactly what I need it to do

That might not sound like a ringing endorsement but its a nightmare finding an app that does everything you need it to do. This one does.

Please, add Yandex.Disk support!

Incredible app. Last.fm scrobbler support is priceless. I ask only one thing, add support for Yandex.Disk cloud storage service. After that the app will be just perfect! Looking forward to it.

My favorite app but...

Library not populating properly (my files are tagged properly). Old Review Review: 5 stars. The developers are active and give us new features and UI enhancements frequently. Thank you for the wonderful App. One request: Equalizer.

Great alternative to syncing with iTunes

I wanted an easy way to manage my music on the phone and CloudBeats with Dropbox is the answer for me. The developer is responsive and continues to add useful features regularly.

Its good, but Id like to see some additional features

Works really well and is probably one of the best cloud music apps out there. Wish it had a few features; like being able to play all the music in subfolders and the ability to sort the folders so that artists and album title that start with "The" are sorted by the next word in the name/title.

Great App but could still be better

Great cloud app with a lot of functionality for the price. It also works great for audiobooks in addition to music. App also allows creation of playlists or queuing for songs. One drawback is that you only get three organizational categories for music - "artist", "album", and "genre". Also, another issue I have is that the specific genre category is worthless since it will include ALL different genres containing the same root words. In other words, stick with bland genre labels and dont include refined sub-genres because they wont work on this app. In other words "country-Rock" will include both all "rock" and all "country". But thats a minor gripe I suppose. I really like the fact that I can pull from different cloud sources. Overall, though, Im very pleased with the app.

Pretty great so far

Love the album covers

Solid app

First Dropbox music app Ive tried that does what you expect. No problems playing FLAC, 96K AIFF, and ALAC. Very handy. Needs to fix gapless playback bug for 5 star rating. Favorites are added to a folder, which is not intuitive. Latest version seems to have FLAC issues.

Great app but plz...

Works amazingly & worth the money folks. For some reason the playlists wont start over after setting it for repeat w all downloaded. Songs, when starting a playlist, start like 15+ seconds into a song. Itd be great to manage my library w my own album art per standards in place & upload/assign via cloudbeats. VlC on my computer allows me to assign album art but this doesnt come over. Thanks again for supporting owncloud. Can you please outline in your privacy policy what trackers you use & how authentication works? Thanks!

A Stellar app w/dedicated developer

This app has grown significantly from its days when it only supported SkyDrive (now OneDrive, of course.). The developer, (Roman, IIRC), has added lots utility to the app and additional clouds without pushing forcing us to use in-app upgrades or new versions to obtain them like so many devs do. Its especially rare and has not gone unnoticed. The only change Id like to see is probably beyond the devs control: the process of importing (or indexing) files into the app. Its always been difficult for me every time I get a new phone. To resolve I recommend performing the one-time scan in the foreground and allow it to run to completion. This is the best way to ensure it actually completes for those with large libraries.

The best iOS music player. Only missing one feature

Update 2: ability to skip back and forth 30 seconds via an earbud volume button and from the lock screen (similar to pocket casts and many other audio apps) would be majorly appreciated. Update: was using it for audiobooks only, but its so good that I switched to listening to music with it. Much better than the stock music app, cesium, ecoute, or any of the other countless alternative music apps Ive tried. ___ Ive tried many apps for mp3 audiobooks including ambling player pro, bookmark, etc. This one is much less hassle to import and stream, or download for offline. The cloud playing and playlist features of this app are working well and if youre just playing your own music from Dropbox, this is the best out there. Respect to the developers for the continual improvement.

Locked up during set up

Locked up immediately during set up. Not impressed. Uninstalled.
